Welcome to RiteRaise. RiteRaise is an online crowdfunding and community engagement platform owned and operated under the Rite Platform Ecosystem, accessible at RiteRaise.com. RiteRaise empowers individuals, organisations, and communities — particularly within the Jamaican context — to raise funds, rally community support, volunteer their time, and participate in online and offline events.
RiteRaise operates two distinct funding modes:
Community Mode — a personal and community crowdfunding model in the spirit of platforms like GoFundMe, designed for individuals, families, groups, and causes;
Project Mode — a reward-based business and creative project funding model in the spirit of platforms like Kickstarter, designed for entrepreneurs, innovators, and creators seeking support from backers.
These Terms of Service ("Terms", "Agreement") constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("User", "you", "your") and RiteRaise ("Platform", "we", "us", "our"). By accessing or using RiteRaise in any capacity — as a Campaign Creator, Backer, Contributor, Volunteer, or Event Participant — you agree to be bound by these Terms in full.
Please read these Terms carefully. If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, you must not access or use the Platform.
SECTION 1: DEFINITIONS
For the purposes of these Terms, the following definitions apply:
"Platform" — RiteRaise, the website at RiteRaise.com and all associated services, tools, and features.
"Rite Ecosystem" — The suite of digital platforms operated under the Rite brand, including RiteScopez.com, RiteSelect.com, and others.
"User" — Any individual or entity that accesses or registers on the Platform in any capacity.
"Campaign Creator" — A User who initiates and manages a Campaign on the Platform.
"Campaign" — A fundraising initiative published on the Platform, whether under Community Mode or Project Mode.
"Community Campaign" — A Campaign created under Community Mode by or on behalf of an individual, family, community group, or non-profit cause.
"Project Campaign" — A Campaign created under Project Mode by a creator, entrepreneur, or business seeking reward-based backing from the public.
"All-or-Nothing Campaign" — A Project Campaign in which funds are only released to the Campaign Creator if the stated fundraising goal is fully met within the campaign period. If the goal is not met, all contributions are refunded to Backers.
"Flexible Campaign" — A Project Campaign in which the Campaign Creator retains all funds contributed, regardless of whether the stated fundraising goal is met, minus applicable fees.
"Contributor" — A User who donates to a Community Campaign without expectation of a reward or return.
"Backer" — A User who pledges funds to a Project Campaign in exchange for a stated Reward Tier.
"Reward Tier" — A level of backing in a Project Campaign that entitles the Backer to a specified non-financial reward, perk, or benefit offered by the Campaign Creator.
"Volunteer" — A User who registers to offer time, skills, or labour in support of a Campaign or Event without monetary compensation.
"Event" — An activity or programme associated with a Campaign or posted independently on the Platform, which may be online or in-person.
"Event Participant" — A User who books, registers, or attends an Event listed on the Platform.
"Platform Fees" — Charges applied by RiteRaise for facilitating transactions and services.
"Vetting Process" — The verification and review process applied to Project Campaigns before they are approved to go live on the Platform.
SECTION 2: ELIGIBILITY
2.1 Age Requirement
You must be at least eighteen (18) years of age to create an account, initiate a Campaign, make a Contribution or Pledge, register as a Volunteer, or book an Event on RiteRaise. Users between the ages of thirteen (13) and seventeen (17) may access the Platform only with verified parental or legal guardian consent and under direct adult supervision.
2.2 Legal Capacity
By using the Platform, you represent and warrant that you have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement under applicable Jamaican law and the laws of any jurisdiction in which you reside or operate.
2.3 Organisations and Entities
If you are registering or acting on behalf of a business, non-profit, religious organisation, community group, or other legal entity, you represent that you have full authority to bind that entity to these Terms.
2.4 Project Campaign Eligibility
To launch a Project Campaign under Project Mode, Campaign Creators must successfully complete the Platform's Vetting Process (see Section 6). Project Campaigns that have not been approved through the Vetting Process may not be published or receive Backer pledges.
2.5 Compliance
You must not use the Platform if you have been previously suspended, banned, or removed from RiteRaise or any platform within the Rite Ecosystem for a violation of applicable Terms or policies.
SECTION 3: ACCOUNT REGISTRATION
3.1 Account Creation
To access the full features of RiteRaise, you must register for a User account. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to keep your account information updated at all times.
3.2 Account Security
You are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You must immediately notify RiteRaise of any unauthorised use of your account or any security breach at support@riteraise.com.
3.3 Account Types
RiteRaise offers several account types, including Individual Accounts, Organisation Accounts, and Volunteer Accounts. The features and permissions associated with each account type may vary and are subject to change at our discretion.
3.4 One Account Policy
You may not maintain more than one active personal account on the Platform. Duplicate accounts may be merged or terminated without prior notice.
3.5 Account Termination by User
You may close your account at any time by contacting RiteRaise support. Closing your account does not extinguish obligations for any active Campaigns, pending payouts, pledged Reward Tiers, or confirmed Event registrations.
SECTION 4: COMMUNITY MODE CAMPAIGNS
Community Mode is RiteRaise's personal and community crowdfunding feature. It operates on a keep-what-you-raise basis: Campaign Creators retain all funds contributed, regardless of whether their fundraising goal is met, minus applicable Platform and payment processing fees.
4.1 Who May Create a Community Campaign
Any registered User who meets our eligibility requirements may start a Community Campaign. RiteRaise welcomes campaigns from individuals, families, community groups, non-profits, schools, churches, civic associations, and social enterprises.
4.2 Individual and Community Campaigns
Individual Campaigns are initiated by a single User for a personal or cause-specific goal. Community Campaigns are collective efforts initiated by or on behalf of a group. Community Campaign administrators share joint responsibility for the accuracy, integrity, and proper use of all funds raised.
4.3 Campaign Content Requirements
All Community Campaigns must include:
A clear and honest campaign title and purpose
A detailed description of the cause and intended use of funds
A realistic fundraising target
An estimated timeline or deadline, where applicable
Accurate contact information for the Campaign Creator
Supporting documentation, images, or verifiable evidence where relevant
4.4 Keep-What-You-Raise Model
Community Mode operates on a keep-what-you-raise basis. All funds contributed are released to the Campaign Creator upon completion of identity verification and payout processing, regardless of whether the stated goal is reached. Platform and payment processing fees are deducted before payout.
4.5 Prohibited Community Campaigns
The following are not permitted as Community Campaigns:
Campaigns that are false, misleading, or deceptive in any material way
Campaigns for illegal activities or purposes that violate Jamaican law
Campaigns promoting hate, violence, or discrimination against any individual or group
Campaigns for gambling, lotteries, weapons, or controlled substances
Campaigns with no clear, legitimate, and verifiable purpose
Campaigns impersonating a legitimate organisation, charity, or public figure
SECTION 5: PROJECT MODE CAMPAIGNS
Project Mode is RiteRaise's reward-based crowdfunding feature for entrepreneurs, creators, businesses, and innovators. Project Campaigns allow creators to raise funds from Backers in exchange for non-financial rewards, perks, or benefits. Project Mode does not support equity-based funding or financial returns to Backers at this time.
5.1 Campaign Structures
Campaign Creators launching a Project Campaign must choose one of the following campaign structures at the time of setup:
All-or-Nothing: Funds are only released to the Campaign Creator if the stated fundraising goal is fully met within the campaign period. If the goal is not met by the deadline, all Backer pledges are fully refunded. No fees are charged on refunded campaigns.
Flexible Funding: The Campaign Creator retains all funds contributed regardless of whether the stated goal is met. Platform and payment processing fees apply to all funds collected. Backers are not entitled to a refund solely on the basis of the goal not being met.
The campaign structure chosen at setup is final and may not be changed after a Campaign has gone live and received its first pledge.
5.2 Reward Tiers
Project Campaign Creators must offer at least one Reward Tier at the time of launch. Reward Tiers are non-financial perks or benefits offered to Backers in exchange for pledging at a specified contribution level. Examples of permissible Reward Tiers include:
Early access to a product, service, or digital content
Product bundles, limited editions, or exclusive merchandise
Named credits, thank-you listings, or acknowledgements
Beta testing or co-creation opportunities
Experiences, workshops, or event invitations
Reward Tiers must not promise financial returns, profit-sharing, equity, dividends, or any form of investment return. RiteRaise does not facilitate equity crowdfunding at this time.
5.3 Backer Pledges
When a Backer pledges funds to a Project Campaign:
For All-or-Nothing Campaigns: the pledge is authorised on the Backer's payment method but is only charged if the campaign goal is met by the deadline. If the goal is not met, the authorisation is released and no charge is made.
For Flexible Campaigns: the pledge is charged immediately upon confirmation and is non-refundable except as set out in Section 5.7.
5.4 Vetting and Verification of Project Campaigns
All Project Campaigns must undergo and pass a Vetting Process before being published on the Platform and made available for Backer pledges. The Vetting Process is designed to verify the legitimacy of the Campaign Creator and their project, assess the feasibility and lawfulness of the stated purpose, and confirm that the campaign complies with these Terms and our Community Guidelines.
RiteRaise reserves the right to approve, decline, or request modifications to any Project Campaign submission at our sole discretion. Submission of a Project Campaign does not guarantee approval. Campaign Creators will be notified of the outcome of the Vetting Process within a reasonable timeframe.
The specific requirements and procedures of the Vetting Process are published on the Platform and may be updated from time to time. Campaign Creators are responsible for ensuring their submissions meet the current requirements.
⚠️ Note: Project Campaigns that have not been approved through the Vetting Process may not be published, promoted, or accept Backer pledges on RiteRaise. Attempting to circumvent the Vetting Process is a violation of these Terms.
5.5 Campaign Creator Obligations — Project Mode
By launching a Project Campaign, the Campaign Creator commits to:
Delivering all stated Reward Tiers to Backers on or before the estimated delivery date
Communicating promptly and transparently with Backers if circumstances change, delivery is delayed, or a reward cannot be fulfilled as described
Using funds raised for the project purpose stated in the campaign — not for unrelated personal expenses, other business obligations, or undisclosed purposes
Posting regular project updates at meaningful milestones throughout the campaign and post-campaign delivery period
Responding to Backer enquiries and complaints in good faith and within a reasonable timeframe
5.6 No Guarantee of Reward Delivery
RiteRaise facilitates the connection between Campaign Creators and Backers but does not guarantee the delivery of Reward Tiers. Backing a Project Campaign on RiteRaise involves inherent risk. Backers acknowledge that:
Projects may encounter unforeseen challenges that affect delivery
The Campaign Creator — not RiteRaise — is solely responsible for fulfilling Reward Tiers
RiteRaise does not act as a guarantor or insurer of any campaign outcome
RiteRaise will take reasonable steps to investigate and enforce compliance where a Campaign Creator is found to have acted fraudulently or in material breach of their stated obligations.
5.7 Refunds — Project Mode
Refund entitlements under Project Mode depend on the campaign structure:
All-or-Nothing Campaigns: If the campaign goal is not met by the deadline, all pledges are fully refunded automatically. If the goal is met and funds are released, pledges are non-refundable except in cases of fraud or material misrepresentation.
Flexible Campaigns: Pledges are non-refundable once charged, except in cases of campaign fraud, removal of the campaign by RiteRaise for a Terms violation, or where a specific refund commitment is stated by the Campaign Creator on the Campaign Page.
Backers who believe a Campaign Creator has acted fraudulently, has failed to deliver stated rewards, or has materially misrepresented their project should contact RiteRaise at support@riteraise.com. RiteRaise will investigate all reports and take appropriate action, which may include fund recovery efforts where permitted by applicable law.
5.8 Prohibited Project Campaigns
The following are not permitted as Project Campaigns:
Projects that promise financial returns, profit-sharing, equity, or investment of any kind to Backers
Projects that are fictitious, fraudulent, or designed to deceive Backers
Projects for illegal goods, services, or activities under Jamaican law
Projects promoting hate speech, discrimination, or harm against any individual or group
Projects impersonating an existing business, brand, or public figure
Projects without a clear, legitimate, deliverable purpose
SECTION 6: PLATFORM FEES AND PAYOUTS
6.1 Platform Fees
RiteRaise charges a Platform Fee on funds raised through the Platform. The current fee rate applies equally to Community Mode and Project Mode campaigns and is published on our Pricing Page at RiteRaise.com/pricing. Fees may be updated from time to time with reasonable notice to Campaign Creators.
6.2 Payment Processing Fees
In addition to the Platform Fee, third-party payment processing fees are deducted from total funds collected. These vary by payment method and are detailed on the Pricing Page.
6.3 All-or-Nothing Campaigns — No Fee on Failed Campaigns
For All-or-Nothing Campaigns that do not reach their goal and are fully refunded, no Platform Fee or payment processing fee is charged. Fees apply only where funds are released to the Campaign Creator.
6.4 Payout Process
Campaign Creators may request a payout of collected funds in accordance with the Platform's published payout schedule. Payouts are subject to identity verification, account standing review, and applicable regulatory compliance checks. Payouts are processed in Jamaican Dollars (JMD) to a verified local bank account or supported payment method.
6.5 Holds and Delays
RiteRaise reserves the right to place a temporary hold on funds pending investigation of suspected fraud, a dispute, a Backer complaint under a Project Campaign, or a regulatory compliance review. We will communicate the reason for any hold and the expected resolution timeline where possible.
6.6 Taxes
Campaign Creators are solely responsible for determining and fulfilling any tax obligations arising from funds received through the Platform. RiteRaise does not provide tax advice. Users should consult a qualified professional regarding their obligations under Jamaican tax law and any other applicable jurisdiction.
SECTION 7: VOLUNTEERING
7.1 Volunteer Registration
Users may register on RiteRaise as Volunteers to offer time and skills in support of Campaigns, community initiatives, or Events. Volunteer profiles must accurately represent the User's skills, experience, and availability.
7.2 No Employment Relationship
Volunteering through RiteRaise does not create an employment, contractor, partnership, or agency relationship between the Volunteer and RiteRaise, or between the Volunteer and any Campaign Creator or Event Organiser. RiteRaise is not responsible for disputes arising from Volunteer engagements.
7.3 Volunteer Safety
Campaign Creators and Event Organisers who engage Volunteers are responsible for ensuring a safe and lawful environment for Volunteer activities. Volunteers are encouraged to report safety concerns to safety@riteraise.com.
7.4 No Compensation
Volunteering is unpaid. Any arrangement involving payment to a Volunteer must be disclosed and managed outside the Platform's Volunteer feature. Using the Volunteer system to engage paid labour without disclosure is a violation of these Terms.
SECTION 8: EVENTS
8.1 Event Listings
Campaign Creators and authorised Organisers may list Events associated with their Campaigns or community activities. Events may be online or offline and may be free or paid.
8.2 Online Events
Online Events must provide accurate access details including links, platform requirements, and scheduled times. RiteRaise is not responsible for technical failures or third-party platform outages that affect the delivery of online Events.
8.3 Offline Events
Organisers of offline Events are responsible for complying with all applicable local laws, permits, health and safety requirements, and regulations in Jamaica or the relevant jurisdiction.
8.4 Event Booking
Booking a free Event constitutes a reservation. Booking a paid Event constitutes a financial transaction governed by the payment and refund provisions of these Terms.
8.5 Event Cancellations and Refunds
If an Event is cancelled by the Organiser, registered participants shall be entitled to a full refund of any fees paid. If a User cancels their booking, refund eligibility is determined by the Organiser's stated refund policy. In the absence of a stated policy, no refund is guaranteed for User-initiated cancellations.
8.6 RiteRaise Not the Event Organiser
Unless explicitly stated otherwise, RiteRaise is a platform that facilitates the listing and booking of Events but is not the organiser, host, or operator of any Event. RiteRaise makes no representations or warranties regarding the quality, safety, legality, or occurrence of any Event listed on the Platform.
SECTION 9: USER CONDUCT AND COMMUNITY STANDARDS
9.1 General Conduct
All Users of RiteRaise are expected to act with honesty, respect, and integrity. You must not use the Platform to harm, deceive, intimidate, harass, or defraud other Users or third parties.
9.2 Prohibited Conduct
The following is strictly prohibited:
Creating false, misleading, or fraudulent Campaigns, profiles, or Events
Misrepresenting your identity or affiliation with any organisation
Attempting to manipulate Campaign rankings, metrics, or visibility through artificial means
Circumventing the Platform's security, authentication, payment, or Vetting systems
Using the Platform to solicit personal information from minors
Posting spam, malicious code, or unsolicited promotional content
Impersonating RiteRaise staff, moderators, or other Users
Using the Platform in any manner that violates applicable Jamaican law or international law
9.3 Enforcement
RiteRaise reserves the right to issue warnings, suspend accounts, remove content, freeze funds, or permanently ban Users who violate these Terms. Enforcement actions may be taken with or without prior notice depending on the severity of the violation.
SECTION 10: INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
10.1 RiteRaise Intellectual Property
All content, trademarks, logos, designs, software, and proprietary technology associated with RiteRaise and the Rite Platform Ecosystem are the exclusive intellectual property of RiteRaise and its licensors. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to access and use the Platform for its intended purposes.
10.2 User Content
You retain ownership of content you create and publish on the Platform. By posting content on RiteRaise, you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive licence to use, reproduce, distribute, and display your content in connection with operating and marketing the Platform.
10.3 Copyright Complaints
If you believe your copyrighted work has been published on RiteRaise without authorisation, please contact legal@riteraise.com with full details of the alleged infringement.
SECTION 11: PRIVACY AND DATA PROTECTION
Our collection, use, and protection of your personal information is governed by our Privacy Policy, available at RiteRaise.com/privacy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. By using the Platform, you consent to the practices described in the Privacy Policy. RiteRaise is committed to compliance with the Data Protection Act, 2020 (Jamaica).
SECTION 12: DISCLAIMERS AND LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
12.1 Platform "As Is"
RiteRaise is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
12.2 No Guarantee of Campaign Success or Reward Delivery
RiteRaise does not guarantee that any Campaign will achieve its fundraising goal, that funds will be used as stated, or that Reward Tiers offered under Project Mode will be delivered as described. Contributors and Backers participate at their own risk.
12.3 Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, RiteRaise and its officers, directors, employees, agents, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the Platform.
12.4 Aggregate Liability Cap
In no event shall RiteRaise's total liability to you for all claims arising out of or related to these Terms or the Platform exceed the greater of: (a) the total Platform Fees paid by you to RiteRaise in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim; or (b) the equivalent of five thousand Jamaican Dollars (JMD $5,000).
12.5 Third-Party Actions
RiteRaise is not liable for the actions, conduct, representations, or omissions of any Campaign Creator, Backer, Contributor, Volunteer, Event Organiser, or Event Participant. Your interactions with other Users are at your own risk.
SECTION 13: INDEMNIFICATION
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless RiteRaise, the Rite Platform Ecosystem, and their respective officers, directors, employees, agents, and affiliates from and against any and all claims, damages, losses, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to your use of the Platform, your breach of these Terms, your User content, your Campaign or Event activities, your Reward Tier commitments, and your violation of any applicable law or the rights of any third party.
SECTION 14: MODIFICATIONS TO THE PLATFORM AND TERMS
14.1 Platform Changes
RiteRaise reserves the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any feature, service, or aspect of the Platform at any time with or without notice.
14.2 Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you by email and by posting a notice on the Platform. Your continued use of the Platform after the effective date of revised Terms constitutes your acceptance of those changes.
SECTION 15: SUSPENSION AND TERMINATION
15.1 Termination by RiteRaise
RiteRaise reserves the right to suspend or permanently terminate your account and access to the Platform at any time, with or without cause and with or without notice, particularly in cases of suspected fraud, material breach of these Terms, failure to fulfil Reward Tier obligations, or conduct harmful to the Platform or its community.
15.2 Effect of Termination
Upon termination: (a) all licences granted to you under these Terms shall immediately cease; (b) outstanding payout and Reward Tier obligations remain enforceable; and (c) provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination shall do so, including Sections 10, 11, 12, 13, and 16.
15.3 Appeals
If you believe your account was actioned in error, you may submit an appeal to support@riteraise.com within thirty (30) days of the action. RiteRaise will review your appeal and respond within a reasonable timeframe.
SECTION 16: GOVERNING LAW AND DISPUTE RESOLUTION
16.1 Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Jamaica, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
16.2 Informal Resolution
Before filing a formal complaint, you agree to first attempt to resolve any dispute informally by contacting legal@riteraise.com with a written description of the dispute and your proposed resolution. RiteRaise will make a good-faith effort to respond within thirty (30) days.
16.3 Formal Dispute Resolution
If informal resolution fails, disputes shall be submitted to binding arbitration or, where not possible, to the courts of competent jurisdiction in Jamaica.
16.4 Class Action Waiver
You agree to resolve any dispute with RiteRaise on an individual basis and waive any right to participate in a class action or consolidated proceeding.
SECTION 17: SPECIAL PROVISIONS FOR THE JAMAICAN COMMUNITY
17.1 Community Transparency
Community Campaigns and Project Campaigns are encouraged to maintain transparency through regular updates, financial disclosures, and open communication with contributors and Backers.
17.2 Local Currency and Payment Methods
RiteRaise is committed to supporting payment methods accessible to Jamaicans, including local banking channels and mobile money solutions as they become available.
17.3 Diaspora Participation
Members of the Jamaican diaspora are welcome to create, contribute to, back, and participate in Campaigns and Events on RiteRaise. Cross-border transactions are subject to the currency and payment policies described in these Terms and applicable international financial regulations.
17.4 Project Mode and the Jamaican Economy
Project Mode is designed in part to support Jamaican entrepreneurs, innovators, and creators in accessing community-backed funding for legitimate business and creative projects. RiteRaise is committed to ensuring that this feature serves the genuine development of the Jamaican economy and creative sector, and will enforce its Vetting Process to maintain the integrity of this mission.

SECTION 19: GENERAL PROVISIONS
19.1 Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, Community Guidelines, and any other policies referenced herein, constitute the entire agreement between you and RiteRaise with respect to your use of the Platform.
19.2 Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
19.3 Waiver
RiteRaise's failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of that right or provision.
19.4 Assignment
You may not assign or transfer your rights or obligations under these Terms without our prior written consent. RiteRaise may assign its rights under these Terms without restriction.
19.5 Force Majeure
RiteRaise shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performance resulting from causes beyond our reasonable control, including natural disasters, government actions, power outages, or telecommunications failures.
19.6 Language
These Terms are written in English. In the event of any conflict between an English version and a translated version, the English version shall prevail.
By using RiteRaise, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service.
